Postdoctoral Position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

We are seeking ambitious, enthusiastic and motivated postdoctoral research fellows to join our research team in condensed matter physics.

Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Commencing date of employment:
First half of 2019, preferably January 1st, 2019
Terms of employment:
Three years. Initial employment will be for a period of 12 months and may be extended for further two years after a satisfactory evaluation. Further three-year reemployment can be allowed once after the final evaluation.
Field of specialization:
Experimental studies of structural, magnetic and thermal properties of solids. The candidate can specialize a) in the synthesis of new materials by various techniques including namely crystal growth, sample characterization by X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy or b) in measurement of physical properties in a wide range of temperatures, magnetic fields, external pressures.
Studies in the home laboratory can be supplemented by using synchrotron x-rays and neutron scattering in large facilities.
The appointee is expected to work with external users in the research infrastructure (Materials Growth and Measurement Laboratory, www.mgml.eu) as well as conduct her/his own research in collaboration with the department staff.
PhD degree or an equivalent

Starting monthly salary 40 000 to 50 000 CZK, depending on previous experience.
Financial support to attend conferences, etc.
Successful candidate may be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred for the trip from their home or former place of work to Prague.
