Full-time Technical Assistant position at the Soil Water Research Infrastructure of the Biology Centre CAS, České Budějovice

This position is well-suited for a motivated individual with a curiosity for soil processes and a strong inclination towards laboratory and field work related to soil organic matter, soil physics and chemistry, or related environmental disciplines. The successful candidate will

  • perform a variety of soil physical and chemical analyses

  • accompany field campaigns for collection of samples and maintenance of experiments

  • manage accruing data.

The ideal candidate would have

  • a university degree, previous laboratory experience is preferred

  • routine in the use of the Microsoft Office work package

  • the ability to fluently communicate in English

  • good interpersonal skills and effective time management

About the employer

The SoWa RI is a newly established part of the Biology Centre of the Czech Academy of Sciences, whose

research predominantly addresses ecological topics. The research involves collaboration across disciplines, the use of diverse methodological approaches, and a combination of analytical and holistic approaches to problem solving. We, as part of the SoWa RI, are a vibrant team of young Scientists and Technical Assistants, working on soil organic matter dynamics in post-mining and forest soils. Our labs are located in modern facilities at the edge of České Budějovice.
